MY LESEHOF. MY ORIGIN.

The Lesehof has stood in Krems-Stein since 1424. It was built by Tegernsee Abbey, and my family has owned it since 1786. I now continue this history as the tenth generation.

My focus is Riesling, supported by Grüner Veltliner. The steep terraces of Stein, their old vines and their contrasting soils are the foundation of my work. Pfaffenberg, Schreck, Hund, Gaisberg, Braunsdorfer, Grillenparz, Goldberg and Kögl each speak with a different voice.

I have farmed organically since 2005 and work biodynamically. In the cellar, the sequence matters: skin contact first, then spontaneous fermentation with the yeasts from the vineyards, followed by a long maturation on the full lees. I intervene only where it is necessary.

I am not interested in wines designed for a quick impression. I want clarity, tension and a precise sense of origin. Some wines open early. Others need years. Time is not an addition to my work. It is part of it.

Tradition, for me, does not mean repeating the past. It means taking responsibility for what I have inherited and giving it a clear direction of my own.

Quality begins in the vineyard. Character develops in the cellar.
